Would this work for Canon EOS 450D as power source?

I do know that the Kit ACK-E5 is what is supposed to be used, but very expensive. Ah, and thank you Dennis for twisting my arm for this camera

Hi Liz,

I have the 450D and am also looking around for an alternative power source.

Do you already have the camera or are you planning to get it?

Have ordered and paid, and not sure how long I have to wait. Have seen that you have one too, and been checking out your posts. Its all a big learning curve, that hopefully wont be too frustrating. Let me know of any tips that you have learned that have made it easier to take a good pic, ta.
