In Need of Thunder Sounds Please

Hi guys, I am in the need of about 2 minutes of thunder sounds, the bigger the better, is there anywhere I could download something like that.

My local library used to have cds of sound effects made by the BBc sound effects lab.

Very amusing, by some, however thanks for your input.

But how do i actually download the sound track so that i can use it in a home made video .

Say i find one on U Tube, is there a way to rip it and send it to my music files

Leon, I installed "DownloadHelper" in Firefox. It puts a button in the menu bar. If you don't show the menu bar you'l need to work out how to use it.

Open the page in UTube and do whatever you need to do to invoke DownloadHelper. In the popup menu select the version of the file you want (MP4 versions are the easiest to handle), and then the download option.

Then I open the MP4 in "Audacity" and "Export..." the audio as an MP3. You can tweek the audio before you save it.

or play the file and use sound recorder to record it .. that's if it's still in windows 8. or able to from onboard sound ... but using a soundcard years ago that was an easy way to record any audio.

you may have to change the source in the mixer etc but it was easy to do

or download the wav files from www.soundbible.com/tags-storm.html
wav files are not compressed so the quality is better

The best I have is 46 seconds of "thunder and rain" from my sound effects library on CD from my television and production days.... any help?

Problem with recording while playing include:

• any sounds the computer chooses to play - like alert beeps from anything else running - wind up in your recording.
• the playback volume affects the recording volume

Hi Leon,
I use this one for my windows startup. Creative Labs supplied it with a soundcard I purchased a about 30yrs ago.
