Large prom on sun today.

Some nice proms in Ha today, especially the large one on the east limb. Seeing was relatively good for a wind day, spent a few hours viewing it change shape. Took a snapshot for the records through singlestack Lunt LS100THa. A nice day in the sun.

Nicely captured filamentary structure in the prominence, thanks for sharing. Haven't pointed a scope at Sol for a few weeks, will do so tomorrow though, hope it is still there, the prominence that is .

Nice pics, Ivan

Like you Geoff, I haven't had a peak at Sol for a long time. Yesterday busy with family and the week is busy with work... That's astro <sigh>

Hii Ivan, might be a dumb question, but did you use some kind of occulting disc, and if so, how did you go about setting it up. Thanks Mark

Hi Mark, this is just an image from a H alpha solar scope, the disk was blanked out in processing to highlight the prominence.
