Finally some bluer skies today, took the opportunity to get the Ha scope out of semi-retirement and have a look at active areas and a few nice proms. Sky is still hazy and the moderate northerly wind wasn't doing the seeing any favours but managed to get some avis'. A quick process of of a prom just for the sake of it. Nice to see some more activity lately, the start of a new sunspot cycle seems to be underway at last, but don't hold your breath.
Thanks for the encouragement guys, much appreciated. One day I may get better at processing but it's something that I can't be bothered spending a lot of time trying to learn, shorter attention span in older age perhaps.
And Welcome back Alex.
Jeff. Thanks. You will be drawn in I feel you do great work you are destined to continue and get better...just keep them comeing..you are already our Sun expert.
Alex
Far from expert Alex, compared to the guys down the menu , in the more dedicated Imaging Forum like Merlin and Gus and Richard and many others that produce great images of what can be a difficult target at times.
There will always be greater or lesser persons than yourself however you must realise that here you are top dog re the Sun.
Even our greats take a back seat when compared to professional astronomers.
What I am saying is you can take some pride in doing so well.
Alex
Jeff,
Well done mate!
You recorded the prom pretty well.
Team work...when we all suffer under similar weather conditions it's good when at least one of us manage to get some observations.
The prom looks like it's still visible. http://halpha.nso.edu/keep/hag/20200...11102230Lh.jpg
