No smoke atm Nik; we've only had a couple of mildly smoky days now and then.

I'll have to try my IDAS D2 and see how it compares - nicer colour in your shot plus more detail. I'll give the 150ED a run at some stage. I guess the more sensitive camera might make the bigger difference though.

Very nice Thor there Nik. I love the look of this DSO, I might have to give it a go at some point. I’m a little behind the 8 ball at the moment, I’m just moving on to Orion so maybe Thor can be next.

The moon is really nice, I had a go at it the other night but it was way to bright and washed out when I went to process the shots.

Thanks everyone the Thor shot will only get better as I didn’t put enough time into it the moon shot was really nice I have to admit. Thus was over 2000 frames stacked in autostakkert it was already sharp so it actually didn’t need much tweaking. You need to play around with the frame rates in order to get a decent even lighting

Yep both with the 294, The lunar shot I was passing time waiting for darkness so attached the laptop sharpcap and captured 2000 frames with ROI at 1200 or so pixels. When it got dark it was using the ASIAIR and fits captures etc. the 294 is a great camera, I just need some decent skies, patience and skills
