Lagoon and Trifid
Between hydrogen alpha projects at the moment, so I began processing some recent RGB data and combined it with previously shot Ha. This is a high resolution crop from a much wider field from the FSQ @ f/5.
High resolution image here:

Full frame wide field here:

The exceptional transparency in Coonabarabran really helped with the depth of the original data set.

A great vista there John. You that misty O111 reflection nebula that surrounds the Lagoon as well and is not often shown.

Ah huh! Pink-Magenta (yes!) in the Ha/Hb regions and some turquoise-green in the blue reflection neb around M20 = spot on.
Lovely work John, go vivid colours, yee haa

Love it. Really needs to the full frame as opposed to the crop to show the golden hues of the milky way contrasting against the extended objects. The crop is a little too overpowering with magenta for me but its not my image. The cosmic foot looks pretty cool. A top shelf image indeed John.

Hey Chaps,
Thanks for all of the positive comments. I totally agree about the magenta which can be over-powering I've reworked the image to shift the magenta more toward the red as per some of Mailin's work. Haven't posted that anywhere as I've been busy on other projects.
cheers,
j

The thing I like about this image the most having imaged this area a million times myself (I promised myself I would stop exaggerating!) is the nice golden star colours in the star field lower down.
This is hard to achieve in my experience and can be a bit elusive.

Excellent field and lovely result John! On the excess of magenta you took already note, apart from that the image is really nice!
Clear skies
