c 11 g star focus

i have a c 11 ota with w/o 2speed focuser also a g star ex ccd. im having trouble geting focus with ccd.would a focal reducer help?THANKS ALL

You will need to use the OTA focuser to get rough focus before you use the w/o focuser

yep, you'll need to get it close using coarse focusing first, then go to the fine focuser for critical focus... Something bright like the moon/jupiter of venus is good to get you close, as even a fair way out of focus, these bright objects will show up as a really really big doughnut...

Just keep turning the coarse focus knob watching the display.. It will come to focus at F/10. Your field of view will be VERY narrow though... Very very narrow

yep found the donuts.Thanks heaps alex and andrew.Weather report says clouds for a few days.But i got light through the C-11 and im pretty rapt.Going to invest in a coffee machine im really pushing midnight.

i've been pushing 4-5 am since i got my c11.. Its a killer. Then. 5am in the morning, its tear down time. It takes it out of ya but its worth it!
