Jupiter and Saturn

Escaping the seeing, well, not quite . A fair while since I've posted anything too.

Jupiter's getting a bit low (and small now!) by the time I get back from work, but the seeing was pretty reasonable for Saturn overhead. Maybe the best I've had since the start of July. Still some intersting things going on around the GRS, with a long tail of material developing on the leading side of the GRS since mid-July, and the lighter plume on the north side of the GRS becoming less prominent.

200mm Newtonian at ~f/35, ASI185MC.

Good results, Andy! Sounds like the pickings have been thin for planetary imagers recently.

thanks Bob, haha! No, just finally got a better night. Then last night topped the 9th too, good conditions even with some hazard reduction smoke about.

thanks! Yeah, really thin, a roaring jetstream over SE Aus for a long while with few breaks, even with a lot of clear skies
