8 august 2017 partial lunar eclipse

must say everything was against me this morning - the domes battery failed and couldn't rotate it, blustery strong winds, then setup out of wind by using the car as a wind block - that was unsuccessful

the camera was on the tripod but it was being knocked about by the wind, thank goodness for image stabilisation!!

its not great but hey it was clear and better than nothing

Good one Dave.
Sorry to hear about your struggles mate.
That wind was bad, so much so that I didn't even bother.
Glad you got this at least.
Nice.

Wow 1/8000 of a second .
I didn't think image stabilisation had any benefit on a tripod ? I heard it could make things worse infact ?

Nice shot David. I was out there too with zero sleep (if I went to bed I wouldn't have crawled back out!) It was so windy here too in Brisbane, still is. I couldn't wait till I got back inside.... after 5am when it was all over and done. I hate the cold, and just getting over a flu, probably wasn't a smart move, but how could I miss out!

according to the weatherman it was blowing about 56km/h. if you hole the trigger and wait for it to stabilize the finish the press. i was in live video mode which i think is slightly delayed like mirror up?
