Enckes Comet

Here's a comet that's been under the radar. Unlike most other comets that don't stay long in the inner solar system Encke is a short period comet only 3.3 years. Its rather faint though and only worth chasing down when near Earth. Was well placed on Aug 2 in middle of Corvus mag 9.9. Very diffuse. Bright moonlight and also high cloud. Terrible imaging conditions. I wasn't sure id get anything but here it is. 4 x 5 mins ISO 400. EOS Ra 10 inch scope. Couldnt see any trace of it on test shots so had to hope i was on target and do the imaging run. Was slightly off but its in frame.

Excellent catch, Scott despite the conditions. Thanks for sharing.
