Nice ISS pass tonight

International Space Station pass from tonight. Was also listening to the lady astronaut talking to the school kids on 145.800 FM. (I could only hear one side).

GSO 10" F4 at prime focus, 1/1600th sec at ISO 800 Pentax K-5.

Great catch Kevin. Was it aimed manually or did you use some sort of satellite tracking (Meade)? Great image

Best

Great shot!

Watched a sci-fi movie last night set on the ISS called "life" with a psychotic serial killer octopus oddly named calvin.

Hi JA. Manual tracking by hand. I just tried to keep it in the crosshairs of the finderscope and then snap a picture. Very basic!

Thanks Dunk! I'm getting a nice collection of different angles ever time it goes over. No two passes are the same.

Great shot Kev. Sometimes I have trouble finding the moon in my 8" scope , impressed by your work once again.

Thanks Tel and Bob. I can't complain about the optics of this 10". It's a bugga to focus, but when it's in focus it's very sharp.

That's a wonderful achievement, great reward which compensates for dusty Mars no show.

John.

Thanks John. Yes it's a pity about Mars. It's a difficult planet to image at the best of times. Hope it clears soon.

Brilliant work considering the speed at which the ISS tracks across the sky.

Thanks Mav and Michael. It's quite a challenge keeping it in view by hand!
