Re Process of NGC 3424 Gabriela Mistral with more Data

I reprocessed NGC 3324 Gabriela Mistral Nebula today using another 2 hours of data I captured over the weekend ( total of 5 hours of 5 minute dithered guided subs)
All stacked in DSS ( kappa sigma )
ZWOASI2600MC with a 2” Duoband filter under 50% lit Moon
8” f5 Bintel GSO newt on an EQ6-R mount
First time using Startools version 1.7 which has some nice improvements on V1.6
Star masks are so much easier, cleaner and more precise
Wipe and AutoDev have improved too
Compose module has improved with so many variables plus a matrix for those who use DSLR’s
Shrink module now can be used before final tracking and noise reduction which is nice
Superstructure module has replaced Life module ( still learning about how to get the best out of this module , Power of inverse worked ok but more to learn )

Original version RGB
Crop versions to expose more close in detail

Comments most welcome
Thanks

Hi M

You certainly do your homework, and it shows.

Still waiting for 'A guide to Startools by Startrek'

Thanks
Yep more data does help especially using the Duoband

You can stop waiting now , heres one of my basic Startools V1.6 workflows I sent to a member a while back

After I use V1.7 for a while , I’ll write up a basic workflow for that as well

Cheers
M

Brilliant result.
More time with any narrowband like filter will really help.
Nice sharp stars, well edited. I like it

Thanks for your comments
I’m pretty stoked about what this camera and filter can achieve
I’m using Startools V1.7 and love it
