Thank you for the kind words, I did nothing different in regards to data capture, it is just a simple 60 second exposure at a higher ISO.
Post processing is what did it, I have a few more shots I got from that night but was unable to replicate exactly what I did, I need to somehow record what I do, I tend to fiddle around till I get it right but afterwards forget how I got there
Turning the highlights down and compensating by turning the whites up helped in bringing out more detail in the brighter areas.
This was shot at Crago observatory in the Blue Mountains, the SMC was barely visible so it is by no means a dark sky site. I thank the astrotrac for being so brilliantly easy to use.
