Moon

Hi

As we all know imaging while moon is up is not good as the moon will brighten the background (unless doing narrowband). What if the moon is below horizon?

For example, few days ago we had 60% moon rising at 10pm Perth time. Would it have any effect on the sky brightness, let's say, at 9:30pm? Or is it only when it actually rises?

Thanks
Luka

If the moon is within an hour of rising it is a good idea to try to be imaging
somewhere on the opposite side of the sky. Even then, you will quite possibly get a bit of a gradient across your image.
