Quick pixinsight / CCD camra question

I'm getting back into processing some images again after a long time and I've got some ASI1600 subs that I'm trying to calibrate.

I remember enough to know that CCD's don't really create reliable bias frames so you just have to make darks to cover every shooting configuration you've used in the field.

All good so far,

But I can't find in my notes or online anywhere, what you do with those little boxes that say 'Calibrate' and 'Optimise' next to the master darks and master flats section.

Firstly, when calibrating my flats (and subtracting the master dark from them) and secondly when calibrating my lights.

Do I have them both off, both times?

A lot of the documentation assumes the use of bias frames.

Of course, I can test it (and that's what I will do tomorrow) but it would sure save me some time if anyone knows the answer off the rop of their head!

Many thanks!

Markus

Edit; just realised I meant CMOS, not CCD!

From what I understand you should be using flat darks. I think the flow chart in this cloudy nights post should be accurate. So when you are creating your master flat add the master flat dark in the dark section and make sure calibrate and optimise are unchecked. Then when you are calibrating your light frames you should also leave calibrate unchecked (because you have already calibrated your darks and flats) as well as optimise.
