Another Eagle has landed

I'm working my way through some of the more common DSO's so here's my first crack at M16. Centre crop & wider field of view. Both images are 24 x 300 sec. frames, captured with FLT 98, ST8300c, acquired with Nebulosity IV using bad pixel mapping & finished in Photoshop CS 2.
I'll add more data to this at some stage but it's time to move on. There's too many targets & not enough clear nights. Andromeda, M33, Pleiades & Orion are above the horizon in the early morning. .
Comments welcome & thanks for looking.
Cheers,
Tony

Great effort and you are right there certainly are too few clear nights.

Well done Antonio, great contrast in the pillars they really pop out. Overall nice shot and one you will definitely have another go at in time...

The stars look a bit bloated but like Anthony said, the Pillars of Creation really show up well with plenty of detail. Nice catch!

Very nice Tony. Agree - the pillars have come out really crisp. Yes - Andromeda is on my bucket list for this year - I think November is the least worst time for it?

Anthony, Mick, Tony & Chris, thanks for your feedback fellas'. the pillars were my main focus so I'm glad that came through in the final image. As Mick said, the stars are a bit bloated, so maybe an IR/UV cut filter would minimize that
or perhaps shorter exposures ( any comments welcome ).
Cheers,
Tony
