Good deal on a SW ST80

As we know the ST 80 (80mm f5, 400fl) is a great starter scope, a good guider and always handy to have around...
Astro Pete's is offering the ST80, with 5 year warranty for less than $100.

Yeah I was looking for a guidescope this week and seen that. Nearly a hundred bucks less than anywhere else.
Ended up going a zwo scope in the end tho.

Great deal.

What are these like as a guidescope? I'm currently using a zwo 50mm with helical focuser. Solid as a rock. I'd be worried about wobble on the ST80 focuser?? But 400mm focal length is appealing.

You need like two extension tubes just to get one in focus aha.

Wow, what a deal! I use one of these as a guide-scope with a ZWO ASI120MC, I use a diagonal to get enough backfocus. I dont use the original rings that come with it I spent a bit of money and bought some losmandy guide-scope rings and a rail to mount it all.

You can get pretty good focus with it but it sucks I need to use the diagonal. I use PHD2's star profile window with a star that isnt clipping to get the focus pretty well spot on.
There are almost always good stars to guide off in field of view despite light pollution.
