With just the 1 ¼ inch filter screwed directly into the camera body, is there sufficient depth to the filter ring to slide into a typical 1 ¼ inch eyepiece fitting?

For my set up, the main reasons for using the 1 ¼ inch nosepiece was to allow the camera to be attached to a 1 ¼ inch eyepiece fitting and keep the filter away from the chip to make any dust spots on the filter out of focus.

I wonder it Peter uses a 2 inch fitting?

Cheers

I've got the camera connected to the focuser via the t-thread - my focuser has a 1.25" bore (that the filter fits within) and a male t-thread that the camera screws directly onto. You could also attach a 2" nosepiece with a t-thread onto the front of the ASI.

John - I'm using the UV/IR filter to protect the CCD and keep it clean.

No worries, it's just that I've done side by side tests with the DMK21 with the Baader IR/UV cut & without, & I received a better result without any filtering at all. I also realize it's a real pain to be having to clean dust bunnies off a chip every 15 mins!
