Meade 6" LX80 F/10 OTA onto a Celestron Nexstar mount

Hi all,

I have a Celestron Nexstar mount that needs a new tube to fit on it. Now, I note in the equipment sales there is a Meade 6" LX80F/10 OTA for sale, tube only. So my question to you experts is:

Would this tube fit onto my mount?

The seller has kindly let me know that his understanding is that all the NexStar mounts use a clamp to suit a Vixen bar.

But before I go ahead and invest, I just need to know whether it will fit, or whether it'll need some other equipment etc?

Many thanks
Phil

It should be fine - these Meade SCTs have a Vixen bar built onto the bottom of the OTA just like many of the Celestrons SCTs so it is a simple task of attaching the OTA to your mount - you shouldn't need to buy anything else.
