A.S.I.G.N. Astrophotography Guide

Greetings earthlings!

A.S.I.G.N. Observatory is proud to present the latest layman's guide to astrophotography.

http://www.asignobservatory.com/Astr...aphyGuide.aspx

As the Canon 400D and it's ilk are the most commonly used these days for the average budget, I thought it pertinent to be a little more specific in this area.

I hope you enjoy the tutorial, share it with new and old astrophotographers, and add it to your links so everyone can gain from it!

Happy space travels!

Baz.

Hi Barry,

we beginners get so much help from the more experienced members of this forum - for which we are all eternally grateful ). I sometimes think you must kinda get sick of saying the same things over and over

But wow, - that is a terrific article. It's awesome to have all the in-between bits spelled out in such a simple easy to understand format. Now, even I can understand how it's done

Thanks again Barry.

Cheers,

Question Quick Question ...

Barry,

just a thought for those not having two scopes.....

Could a good result be obtained using just the ed80 and 400d with an off axis guider to guide with?

Cheers,

Gentlemen,

This is one reason I do not do this for money. When I first started out in astronomy, no one would help me. Clubs and associations were not interested in the newbie unless they were a paying member.

I believe that the newbie is the lifeblood of astronomy, and it is they that we as decent and responsible experienced, should be teaching and encouraging to help astronomy grow. Without new blood, the astronomer species will eventually become extinct.

It is responses like yours that tell me this is the right way to go and that in itself makes any effort well worth it!

It is I, who thank you, the newbie, as we all were once.

God bless,

Barry.

I am sure with practice that this would be achievable Paul.

I just got my Canon 400D and just getting started using trial & error. I think your guide will save me alot of time on the learning curve. There is not much out there with digital SLRs and 400Ds. Thanks a million!Domenic

Good stuff, Well written and It seems we have all, if not most of us invested in a 400D. Nice point, astronomy and the marvellous heavens have been given to all mankind to admire, a gift form above.
