Is Resizing of Flat Frame Possible?

Hello,

I have a good series of flat frames binned 1x1. Can I resize these images to 2x2 image size in photoshop to use for reducing 2x2 binned images, or must I take a new series binned 2x2?

Many thanks,

Peter

I haven't tried it, but thinking logically - flats are for optical path calibration, so I would think that resizing them for binned shots would be fine.

The other purpose of flat correction is to adjust for variances in CCD sensitivity between sensor elements. A resampled flat won't do this accurately, but it may not be that noticeable. Probably a bad thing to do if you're doing photometry!

Cheers,
Rick.
