I thought it was more interesting (astronomy-wise at least) to see an imaging sensor this big https://www.digitaltrends.com/photog...os-sensor-yet/

I note it is fabbed by TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company).

TSMC is one of those companies well known in the semiconductor industry but
probably barely known by the general public.

Yet it is one of the world's largest semiconductor companies and it builds chips
for many other companies that either don't have their own fab plant or require
extra capacity.

For example, if you own an iPhone, chances are many of the chips in it including
the main CPU core were fabricated at TSMC.

They are world leaders in the latest deep ultravilolet lithography and even Intel
is lagging behind them.

Many of the chips fabricated there would be in automobiles, aircraft and defence
equipment.

Strategically it is one of the world's most important companies and if China attempted to
invade Taiwan it would be a key reason why the rest of the world would either want
to stop China or destroy the plant and relocate the people.
