I need to downsize and am offering this Meade 2080 8" SCT with high transmission coatings. I replaced the original 240vac drive base with one from an LX10 that uses a 9v battery, the original drive base is available if the buyer wants it. Also completely rebuilt the tripod spreader bar - it is now the most rigid and easiest to erect tripod I have ever used.
It is in excellent condition optically and mechanically, and the quality of the optics is very good. It's another scope I would really like to keep but I just can't find room for 3 SCT's
Comes with the original Meade visual back, Meade 25mm MA, a generic (good) 40mm Plossl, and 15mm GSO wide view Plossl.
