My CNC

I decided to make motorized XYZ frame, to carry small drill (for drilling PCB's) or laser cutter/engraver.

The mechanical concept is similar to the one I used for my 3D printer, low-cost but precise and strong (enough).

The elements for fixing 8mm shafts into Al profile (rectangular hollow from aluminium centre, 75x25mm) were printed from ABS (they are visible as white blocks, screws hold two of them around shaft).

Controller will be arduino based, of course....

For anyone interested in this, I will post design files here, later.

This is a fascinating tool - could it also be a mill?

I think yes, for soft materials.
