Combining different nights data using Pixinsight

Could anyone suggest the best method of combining data taken on one night to another.

I have Lum and Ha data from 2015 and last night I want to combine

While all subs are at 10 mins they are slightly rotated and I have different Flats for both sets.

Do i just Batch process each nights separately, Star Align then use Pixmath to combine. If so, what is the best expression.

Or is there a better option?

cheers Geoff

Hi Geoff,

Run BPP once for each batch with matching flats. You can do the registration at the same time - just choose the same reference image for both BPP runs. Then feed ImageIntegration with all the calibrated/registered subs from both nights.

No need for any PixelMath.

Cheers,
Rick.

Yep, just use the same registration image. You may need to use dynamic alignment if the view is very different as automatic star alignment may fail. I usually make a small integration to reduce noise and maybe cropped roughly around my area of interest (final cropping later on during processing) so if different nights sets dont match well I can still hopefully at least get my target fully covered by the different sets.. You can even register sets taken with different gear at different scales, PI will scale to the target file, you will have to use dynamic alignment to register manually. But PI will take it all in and you can get usable images from it all.
