Loads of new Products added to the IceInSpace Shop!

Hi all

I've got some great new products at the IceInSpace Shop, especially for beginners and those just getting started.

1) Observing Products

- Moon Maps and Moon Phase Maps : $15
- Star Charts with CD : $20
- Star Disc Planisphere : $15
- IceInSpace Eclipse Glasses : $4 each or $3.50 each if you order 4 or more.

2) DVD's

- Spaceflight 2011
- Solar System News 2011
- Universe News 2011
- Hubble - 15 years of Discovery
- Eyes on the Skies

All DVD's $13 each, but get a 20% discount if you buy all 5.

3) Australian Sky 2012 Calendar

I know we're a few months into 2012, but the photos are still great and at $5 you can't go wrong.
If you buy 2 or more, get 20% off the calendars!

4) Specials

The specials page highlights the specials already listed above, with the addition of:

- If you spend $100 or more in the shop, use the coupon code 10PCT100 to get a 10% discount off your entire order.
- If you spend $100 or more in the shop, shipping is free within Australia.
- Shipping within Australia is now reduced to $2 flat rate for any amount of products, with the exception of shirts or compendium, which is a flat rate of $4 due to the increased postage costs.

All products are offered for sale for the enjoyment and/or benefit of the extended IceInSpace community and sales help support IceInSpace and the website.
I will only sell products that I would personally recommend or use myself.

If you have any suggestions for other merchandise or products, please feel free to get in touch.

Hi Mike
Wow! Your new IIS shop is fabulous- lots of goodies & well laid out..

I have a question regarding the solar glasses....

For people like myself who wear glasses to view distance, are the glasses safe to be worn on top of (if they can?) existing glasses?
Oh boy.. you should see me wearing my 3D glasses on top of my existing glasses at home- brings the family to their knees in hysterical laughter...

Thanks for the feedback, Suzy!

Regarding your question - the eclipse glasses will be fine to wear over the top of normal glasses, as long as you're careful to ensure they cover as much as possible and don't let any direct Sun leak in the sides.

I think you'd need to hold the eclipse glasses in place across your normal glasses, rather than just having them sit on your ears/nose - but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Thanks Mike.
Taping them to my glasses sounds a good idea and one I hadn't thought of. I was terribly scared that having them sit on top might leave some gaps for the sun to peep thru, so that puts my mind at ease.

Remember you need to get them off your glasses when you are in total eclipse - you don't want to be fumbling with tape! Of course, only in a total eclipse situation, not a partial eclipse not for the transit of Venus. One small "bulldog" clip might do the trick - securely held in place but quickly removed. Get a nice coloured one to increase the hilarity for your family

And, great additions to the shop Mike and good specials
