G'day Alex.
Finally, it is done. And here are some photos as requested.

The panel is a bit busy but that can't be helped. The charge controller is fed from the turbine via a rectifier and both the rectified DC from the turbine and the DC from the solar panels are routed via the relay you can see. When the batteries go over a safe level, the relay diverts the load to those large resistors (blue) and hopefully keeps the batteries safe.

The inputs are all wired via isolation switches (the turbine AC) and fused relays (the solar DC) and the 2000 watt PSW inverter is there also. The whole thing is earthed via the busbar off the negative terminal of the battery.

The inverter feeds a water pump to water the fruit trees up there plus a few lights in the BBQ shelter.

Since the water pump only gets used every 3-4 days and the lights even less frequently, I hope that 200 amps of 24 volt power will be more than sufficient to run the lot without any really deep discharging.

Fingers crossed!!

Peter

Yes a new thread please.
I am looking at the tower of my wind generator which is next to the shack I want to set up as a live in observatory and thinking ...maybe not☺.
I plan to look into lightning rod material when I get a chance but I notice there is nothing on the tower and am thinking a cable and a pipe in the ground at least.

On the other hand I may have a tower and genny for sale real soon☺.

Thanks for the photos.

Your board does not look busy at all I know of some a little busier☺.

One thing I want to look into is dumping power into a hot water system ... which would be magic for watering plants..they love hot water.
