NB with a OSC CCD

Never done NB imaging of any quality before, so seeing we have full moon and PERFECT skies, want to add some H-a and OIII to some of my images.

I have a Starlight Xpress SXVR-M25C one shot colour CCD. If I do a run of NB images, what is the preferred way to integrate them into the OSC results - do I stack them with the colour FITS, or do I stack seperately, then restack, or seperately and add as a layer in Photoshop, or?

A little confused on the matter, and want to get to the bottom of it. Appreciate the help. Now need to buy an SII filter too

I think it's best to think of your OSC as a mono when doing NB. So you calibrate your subs with the bayer matrix intact. Then debayer in separate directories to Red, Green then Blue. Stack and combine each channel separately then do a final colour combine to get your palette.

So Ha and Sii will go in your red pixels (1/4). Oiii is a turquoise colour. You'll get a lot in the blue pixels and some in the green. Because there's 2 greens for one blue it's likely the green will be smoother than the blue.

Having said that you're best to use a mono for NB. An OSC will lose a lot of resolution.
