Hi Pete, any reason you opted for the 34mm rings vice the 32mm?

Phil is sending me some grease & I'm planning to source some O rings. I expect that I can get either size & will probably get both but, I'm curious what made you settle on the 34mm?

Cheers

Hi Carlton,

I tried both the 32mm then a 32mm and a 34mm then both 34mm. As I turned the pressure tuner with each combination I found that with both 34mm rings things felt less sloppy when tightened. I had also read much about the slight "pop" when you removed the black part of the tuner but I did not get any hint of a popping sound until I fitted both 34mm rings.
Lunt advised that some pressure tuners could benefit from the use of 34mm over 32mm, I guess due to machining tolerances.
So aside from that "pop" the result of my first views using PT and 34mm rings with a complete regrease has been what I was hoping for.

Hehe... one drum please.
Actually the minimal grease Lunt supplied is obviously just enough, about two thumbnail smears in a double plastic bag. So I would say the 50grams that Phil sent me will not be needed for sometime, but handy to have at the ready. So don't overgrease would seem to be Lunts message in their supply.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that changing the rings (one of which was clearly damaged) and regreasing has made a vast improvement.
