Depending on your budget...a good camera tripod bag would work well. I use a manfrotto bag for my EQ6 tripod and it even has extra padding at the end to protect the azimuth adjustment post

I got a tent pole bag from Anaconda and cut down the length - had the closed end sewn at a place with an industrial sewing machine.

For the tripod I use a cover off one of my folding camper chairs , and for the head a case from Bunnings.

I use a soft trombone bag which is not only the right length but is large aat one end (I wouldnt buy a trombone bag specifically to store tripods, because they arent cheap at $155. It can store my refractor, tripod and lenses etc.)

I can't believe how hard it is to buy a tripod bag locally! Most of the decent priced ones of eBay come from China. Hate buying stuff from there because it takes 3 weeks to get here!
