Configuring MaximDL for Permpro for Polar Alignment

Hi guys,

Just wanting some advice on the best way to configure MaximDL to take full frame images over several seconds to use with Pempro for Polar Alignment.

The way MaximDL is configured on my laptop at the moment, when Pempro tries to take 3 continuous images, the first 2 images will be severely cropped, and the 3rd image will be fine. What is required is that all 3 images are the same and then I can select the same star over the 3 images.

Thanks in advance.

John K.

Hi John,

Make sure that the subframe and mouse checkboxes are unticked on the Expose tab of MaxIm DL.

Thanks for that.

Have been playing with it this evening. Once Pempro gets started is seems to like to revert to the the *Find DSO default setting which has subframe turned on.

Is there a way to switch this darn thing off?

It looks like it is setting the whole image as the subframe, which is OK.

Not 100% sure what's going on there to be honest. :/

Maybe an email to Ray Gralak might yield some info on how to debug it?

Great thanks for that.

I actually did not realise that Pempro had it's own Video option as well rather than using a 3rd party software.

Will have a go at it that way and see if I can connect it to my ASI1600 camera to simplify the whole thing.

mmm....looks like only my laptop Webcam comes up in the Video mode even though the ZWO driver says it does support Direct Show software.

Maybe something I need to configure in Windows?

Anyone know how to set up a Zwo camera as a webcam in Windows?
