8" SCT for Planetary Imaging

I'm waiting on delivery of a new mount and am considering whether to remove the 8" OTA from the mount of my LX200 for use in planetary imaging. The LX200 is eight years old and I'm not having any luck selling it, probably because you can get a new LX90 for not much more than what I would like for it.

It would probably be used with an old Starlight Xpress MX7C that has a 440,000 pixel array. CCD calc gives this setup 0.86 arc seconds per pixel or 0.43 with a 2X Barlow.

Any views on this as an option would be welcome.

Cheers

Mark
