I cant speak to that, having only owned crop cameras to date, next camera... Crop! D300

Just had a look at this really good webpage on lenses for astrophotography: http://www.astropix.com/HTML/I_ASTROP/LENSES.HTM

Here's an excerpt:

thats a cool list. My 16-35mm is only really good at f/5.6, but thats on FF. it's quite rubbish at 2.8

it's a pity he hasn't tried the 35 1.4 which spanks the socks off the 16-35 and the 35/2.

I'm dying to try my 200/1.8 astro wise on an equatorial , just been lazy
