On top of the world Babeeee!

Well almost!,
The view yesterday from Q1 on the Gold Coast.
A pity it was a little hazy. After this we dipped our toes in
the Pacific Ocean.

I've been able to convince the family to head up there. Glad you're having fun Steve.

This is a bit tragic, but looks like you were there for quite a while from the shadows between 1 and 3? 2hrs?

Today a ferry ride on the Brisbane River.
Gawd, Brisbane has got its s__T together, it is such a beautiful waterfront
city. Maybe Adelaide might be a Brisbane when it grows up.

And a dome on top of one of the city skyline buildings.

Wow, we dodged a bullet last night. We were 50 odd ks south of BrisVegas
watching sinister clouds build all around us, all the time checking the radar and BOM site
No warnings....couldn't believe what we saw hit Brisbane!
This morning, packed up, left Dodge and now heading to Coonabarabran!

Good move Steve.
My wife has friends in an old Qld'er that's got no windows on the south side and rain all the way through. Trees that have stood for 50 years wiped out.

Pretty wild weather and very unusual for a storm to sweep through from due south like that. Glad you missed any trouble.

Coonabarabran!

I hope everything is ok for them Rob.

Well, after wanting to see this place for myself for probably close to 35-40 years, I finally
walked on what is.one of my Meccas.....Siding Spring Observatory.
Saw the AAT 3:9m up close, took the tour, saw lots of names I feel I know personally, having been inspired and in.awe of them for all of my life.....Malin, Lee, McNaught, Watson, Garradd, even pics there by the guy who ispired me to attempt putting a 12" scope on my
homemade GEM , Paul Mayo.

Hoping tonight (once the thunderstorms roll through) to go visit one of the several private observatories here. My daughter pointed out to us all this morning, look at Dad's face, he hasnt stopped smiling since he got here.
