While I wrestled with poor polar alignment and insane wind on saturday, I managed to grab some 50x 30 sec subs with the canon 5d Mkii with 50mm f1.4 (at f4) of this super fun region. I have no idea when it comes to processing widefield but I think I did ok.

The 30 second grab works well when polar is not quiet there...I have near six months or more experience in the 30 capture and amazed how well it can produce wonderful images as you have demonstrated here.
