Tak Meridian mounts

Something more strange then Takahashi's new colour scheme is the new Meridian mount adaptations .....

http://www.takahashijapan.com/ct-new...-meridian.html

EM-11,EM-200, EM-400 covered, but no polar scope and reduces capacity to half of the mounts normal ability at the same price point .

By chance came across this pic {attached} of a Jap amatuer adapting a EM-400 to do the same thing a day ago and saw this on Taks website today. Must be a demand for it in Japan.

I can kind of understand it (oh how frustrating meridian flips are when the mount STOPS instead of auto-flipping), but I can see bad harmonics building there - no wonder the capacity is halved.

Imagine you left it unattended for a long period of time. Twisty tied cables!

I'm not fond of my mount going 135° let alone potentially full circle
