planespotting

One of interest to the aircraft fanatics on here - caught this over Adelaide at 39000ft enroute from Jakarta to Melbourne on Friday - looks like its presently at Canberra.
Honeywell International Testbed Boeing 757 N757HW - note the big chunk on the side of the fuselage - used to bolt jet engines to it for testing.
Pentax K5 Sigma 150-500mm.

Nice one Peter; I'd like to have seen some of the skin rivets though.

Suzy Webb will be envious you caught this one. I'm sure it'll be on her plane bucket list.
Well caught.

Spot on Trev, it is now! But my reach won't be as good with my 300mm.

Hi Peter, that's a great close-up of the Jetstar.
Mind if I share some rivets too?
Doesn't seem to be anywhere as many of the Jetstar one though!
Thai Airways flight TG473, Bangkok to Brisbane. B787-8 Dreamliner.
HS-TQA flight this day was a very dirty one, glad to see it was cleaned up on its next visit. A total of six Thai 787 registrations services Brisbane and they're normally very pristine.

Always interesting to me seeing the underneath of planes so close up.
Captured from home with my 70-300 Canon L series IS USM lens @300mm.

Thank you Suzy....cant EVER get enough rivets!! Nice one - and what a lucky duck to have em flying over your backyard!! We actually had a special visit (in Adelaide) yesterday of a ANZ 789 to promote some new routes/aircraft - quite special for us!
Cheers Pete

Peter, wow, now look who's the lucky duck!
I love the Dreamliners, they're a beautiful looking plane, the wings look so angelic to me.

The only ANZ flights as far I'm aware to Brisbane are A320, the occasional 767 in old livery colours, and the 777 is always special, especially the All Blacks livery and such a shame the Hobbit livery is now painted, that was a really sad day , but no Dreamliner from ANZ. We only get the Air Canada & Ethad 787-9 (amazing livery), and Thai 787-8. Last August was a rare sight at the airport seeing an ANZ Dash8 which was enroute up north for I think...painting.
