Explosions near Heathcote
Up at Heathcote at the moment after an AP night. There has been 10 minutes of what either sounds like very heavy weapons fire or explosives.
Google doesn't mention any military testing grounds in the area but there is a mine up in Costerfield where they could be blowing rocks to Oblivion.
Anyone have any more solid ideas?

Holsworthy Army Base, they have a training range for heavy weapons along Heathcote Road, to the left as you head towards Liverpool, at night you will also see them firing parachute flares as well, when I was PRS at Engadine we were always getting reports of UFO's etc..

I go for a casual walk every now and then near home to find out what the boys and girls from RMC Duntroon are destroying in the Pialligo forest near us. The thuds yesterday from the mortar live firing was entertaining LOL. Kunama was there for one
Might try to catch the firing and end result on film one day but they may turn the mortars my way for espionage

Wrong Heathcote I presume (Heatcote Vic not NSW) but maybe a similar reason. Maybe close enough to the Puckapunyal army base to hear them doing their thing?

Nah, that's just my mate Mal coming to visit. He usually comes on Sundays after attending the Church of Taxpayer Consumption.

My first bet would be on Pukka. Though I have heard the quarry not too far from me (Kilmore) blasting in the evening at times.
