Carina Nebula - first (proper) light on new ZWO 1600mm Cool

Hey all,

Thought I'd share a quick shot of the new camera i picked up recently. Got about 5 hours of data on the target. HA filter on Saturday night just gone. For anyone on the fence going from a DSLR to a dedicated cam i cannot recommend it highly enough. This is with my 130P with all of the work i recently did on it to get better stars with 1 minute exposures. I had another go at using startools which i think i got a better result than my last processing attempt.

Looking forward to getting the field flattener in on the refractor i just picked up to get some proper imaging in with the new combo.

Great image Cody.

Plenty of good detail.

Are you going to map to a colour?

Very nice Cody. Well done. I’m assuming you’re adding O3 and S2 ?

the 3D depth you have here is superb, i often like Ha only mono for this reason. Sometimes i think going full colour loses some of that "depth. ANd with the 130p and no corrector/flatenner? I'm starting to think seriously about getting a reflector ;-)
