Unhappy Problem with Nautilus motorised filter wheel

I have just bought an Orion Nautilus 7x1.25" motorized filter wheel and am having difficulty installing the software. My laptop is a Compaq running Windows 7 and with system requirements outlined. According to manual supplied the filter wheel should work. Problem is the 'Welcome to the Found New Hardware' menu does not come up. I get a sort of installation by clicking on the 'Install Nautilus Controller Software' on the ORION menu that comes up but then it does not find the filter wheel when it is plugged in.

Has anyone had similar problems? Any solutions? I contacted the supplier in the US, OPTCORP, who have not been of any help.

Tex

Tex, you might do a bit of research to see if the Orion Nautilus is the same hardware as one of Atik's filter wheels. If so Atik's drivers may work for you. The direct link is http://www.atik-cameras.com/external...tikDrivers.zip

I had similar issues, but got it working nicely under Win7, that is to say I got the drivers and ASCOM drivers working so I could control it with Sequence Generator Pro. It hasn't skipped a beat for months now....
I could never get the little controller program that runs in Win to even successfully load without crashing....

I had a thread - http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...light=nautilus

Hope that helps somewhat.....

I had the same issue and if you do a search in google you'll find its a common problem with 64 bit os.
I have mine installed and working but when ever I reboot the pc I have to physically walk over to the filter wheel and unplug the USB cable wait for a few seconds then reconnect and it world no problem after that, but I have to do this every single time with out fail.
Upon reboot the computer recognises it as a new device and try's to install the driver, fails and tells me that there was device was not recognised. I then unplug and replug and it works.

Go to Orion's website http://www.telescope.com/Orion-Nauti...25/p/99273.uts and download the latest driver.
Go into the device manager and right click on the device and updat the driver. You will need to hand feed it and manually tell it where the driver is located.

This is the only way that I could get it working.

If you find a fix let me know, I'm all ears.

Cheers
Sandy.

Mine doesn't do that anymore.... Not really sure exactly why though!
I did change my hub to a 10 port job from Jaycar, and tend to not power up the other USB devices on it (CCD/focuser) until after the computer has booted, and presumably the FW has installed its drivers....

Thanks!

First time I've use IceInSpace forum. Impressed with willingness of people to help out - thanks!

I will try various suggestions and let community know so that we have a knowledge base for others. Did try StarShoot G3 last night for first time with V filter screwed in end. Yet to reduce data but will let community know whether photometry with G3 works well.
