46P Wirtanen Deux

Given Melbourne's most unreliable weather recently, I thought I'd take advantage of some clear sky to catch me a comet and not wait till a likely cloudy night on the 16th.

The plan was to capture it 3 ways but inevitable cloud kept it to 2.

So first is:

76 x 22 Sec
SkyWatcher102 f/5
Canon 5d @ ISO800
Nexstar Alt-Az Mount

Second is first light for my nifty 50 :

Canon 350d
Canon 50mm f/1.8
Fixed Tripod
22 x 6 Sec

Nicely done. You've got enough subs in the first for a ~4s animation @15fps. That could be a cool sequence.

Thank you Marc.

That's a really cool idea, I hadn't though of that.

Any software suggestions apart from PS ( it doesn't like my graphics card or accelerator or something )

Hi Ryan I only use Adobe products for video right now, Premiere and After Effect so not aware of the freebie market but I'm sure you can dig out some. If you have PS you could do a GIF sequence if you crop and keep it lowres. What's the issue with your Photoshop and graphic accelerator? You can disable hardware rendering in the settings under preferences I think.
