Interesting. Don't know how you'd go bending other metals like that. Copper is easy but not steel so much I suspect.

I might do this up as a spreadsheet sometime so that you can specify any dome diameter.

How about in ply ? Wired and taped seams as per dinghy building. A few ribs to strengthen critical areas. Might experiment on a small scale.
