Upside down lap top.

The cube observatory box has to doors in effect for the roof...these open and at present lay at about 30 degrees ...I can fix the lap top here if it works happily at a 30 degree angle to the horizontal...but the real test would it work when I close the lid and the lap top is upside down...and say when the night is over it stacks in DSS upside down...

Should be OK if you use a northern hemisphere laptop, Alex

I don't think the mice inside the laptop really worry about orientation, although you might feel a little awkward trying to type on it though, when up-side-down.

Shouldn't be a problem.

Just don't block the vents under the chassis when you secure it down ( or is that up ? ) or you may get internal heating problems. Use some standoffs or something.

Thanks to everyone.
Brent I have a neat little stand for my lap top which has a fan inbuilt for cooling.

You've got it all wrong Alex.

Seeing we are the Land Down Under, everything is already upside down, therefore if it's "upside down" it's really right side up.

Got it?

Laptops don't care what orientation you use them at.

I'd personally make a small plywood tray come out of the wall or hook attachable/detachable to the wall. Easy as pi.

Thank you Lewis.
I set everything up last night with guiding running and the lap top in place and your idea may be the way to go...I have an idea for a box that swings into place but stays upright but the benefit of that approach is the lid to the box will fit into place as the main lid closes such that the lap top will be safe from a unexpected leak or some animal ..mice lizards whatever.
Thanks.
Alex
