Dithering with a DSLR - Darks and Flats

Hi all.

I have stated dithering my astro images using a Canon 6D. Is there any merit in dithering when taking darks and flats? I found nothing on the net advising that dithering should only be used when taking subs.

Dithering only works on your light frames by removed fixed pattern noise and dark current noise after stacking

Thanks Martin. I just thought hot pixels could show up in darks and flats and cause issues when the respective master files are created. Cheers
