More rain on the way through Autumn

Looks like the wet weather and cloudy skies could be here for a while longer for many of us in the more populated areas. The BOM's long term outlook was released today:

Autumn likely wetter than average across far northern and eastern Australia

http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/outloo...infall/summary

And here are the rain forecast maps for the next 3 months (if it doesn't load to 3 months, you can change it yourself on the site)

http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/outloo...ian/seasonal/0

Here's hoping the rain comes quickly then gives us clear skies in between pouring down.

Might do some bigger camping trips out west this Autumn to find those clear skies. Mungo?!

Good news for the east coast. We need all the water we can get.

I'm theoretically getting two rainwater tanks installed next week (delayed once due to rain and maybe again), so the rain will be helpful to fill them.

But I'd really like to see some clear skies again too.

Yep. I'd just like clear skies in-between bouts!

Forecast for South Coast NSW looks pretty good compared to earlier in the week where we cloudy conditions and showers off and on (mostly at night )
Friday night clear , most of the night and early morning
Saturday night clear , some scattered cloud late
Sunday night clear , cloud rolling in about midnight

Can’t complain !!

I’m setting up for some AP

One to get used to on east coast NSW.

I have kept records for the last few years and it’s usually pretty pants until the back end of May. It’s either cloud or rain.

Buy your telescope and bits and pieces now and spend the next few months prepping for Winter imaging.

I've felt that anecdotally as well, good to know you've got the data to back it up.
I plan on indeed testing my current gear until mid-year then getting a new astro cam around September.

Does anyone have an accurate forecast for Sydney tonight? I’ve looked at ClearOutside, 7timer, MeteoBlue, Windy and Skippy Sky and none of them have the same forecast.
