ADM retailers in Aus? Geoptik thoughts?

Hi team,

I'm keen on a few ADM bits and pieces, most desperately an AZ GTI replacement saddle. Wondering if anyone knows of places that might be likely to be holding stock?

Side note, anyone have any thoughts on ADM vs Geoptik for saddles and general quality?

cheers,
JP

ADM are well made solid products I buy direct even after freight cost and current exchange rate still a bit cheaper than you can as buy for here, if you don't mind the delay in receiving them due to COVID

John,

What saddle are you after? I have some high quality alternatives on hand.

Thanks Lewis,

This is the one I'm particularly keen on

But i see in the archives here that Rainmaker has turned an adapter up himself to use another saddle, which would also be great.

Other than that, was looking at the replacement puck-saddle combo for thr heq5, and a side by side set up for guiding a canon lens around.

J-P,
I use both the ADM and Geoptic saddles on my HEQ5 and NEQ6 mounts.
I'm impressed with the quality of both. I haven't had any problems using them over the past ten years.

John,

Tell me the hole spacing and I can tell you if I have anything compatible. I think I do.

It took ADM 3 months to get my puck from them. I sent several emails but didn't get a single reply. I know it wasn't their fault it was late, since USPS is going through some SERIOUS problems at the moment. But it would have been nice to at least get an email back!

Hi Lewis,

The mount first needs a puck to generate enough standoff for the dovetail mount to turn without fouling the mount body. I'm not at all sure of that hole spacing, from there I think the options for mounts is wide open. Do you mean that you might have a puck to suit? Or, perhaps I can find the hole pattern on the current puck without ripping off the cap on mine

Tony, I emailed ADM when I started this thread, asking about UPS of fedex possibilities for international deliveries, no reply yet (its early days yet)... perhaps that means they're working on it!

JP

The bolt spscing is 19mm, 4 bolts in a square

Finding bolt hole patterns of clamps online is proving a difficult task!

JP,
With clamps from places like AliExpress the standard spacing is often 35mm.
I'll check mine and update.

I'll also see if I have any 3" bar stock..... may be able to make an adapter for you next week.

I've measured thrice at 19mm, but this has me wondering/hoping its actually 20mm. Would be an easy and neat solution
