Web Cams for guideing

Hi all i am getting into astrophotography and i was wondering what if any webcams are usefull as a guide cam (till i save up the money for a better one that is poor uni student buget atm). It looks likly that the cam will go into either a 90mm mak or a 80mm refrac. Any assistence in this regards would be most welcome.

I've successfully used a Philips Toucam 840 for guiding for a while now.
All I needed was an adapter which screwed into the webcam and allowed it to slip into the 1.25" diagonal in my guidescope.
