Explosive Sol 2nd December

Managed a bit of Sol data this morning but seeing/wind hampered my efforts and it was getting very hot on the deck today!

I took two 20minute animations of different parts of the disc as there are quite a few proms around the disc. I have cropped the most dramatic explosive one and added here. It is interesting to see how the Prom seems to "roll" or "wave" cross the Sun's limb.

Thanks for looking

Good work Peter - yes it was windy this morning. Good to see some prominences. Regards, John W.

Thanks John,

Yes prominences rule!

Wind is a big issue on a balcony overlooking the Gold Coast Broadwater. Not to mention it's concrete and tile jungle everywhere so am trying to pick my moments and early morning has been the go but summer is testing that!

Thank you very much Gerard,

There bare heaps of proms today and this one was even on the radar, it just erupted out of nowhere.

Thanks Ken,

The hour of guidance that you so keenly gave me on the phone has been the glue to sticking all the bits together that I have learnt since. Heaps still to learn and do yet but I am enjoying my Astro like a 10 year old again!
