Orion Counterweight Shaft upgrade

Hi guys, does anyone know where I can source one of these doodads? All sites I've been to say theyve been discontinued. Sirius optics website says its under backorder (1-2 month wait) but they actually don't stock them anymore so I don't know what it's still doing listed on the site.

Have a competent engineer make one, in stainless bar rather than the chromed steel these usually are.


I believe Stefan Buda or Hugh "Ubique" here on the forum could make you one. Won't be as cheap as the Orion one, but it will be better.
