Some nice lunar scapes from a night of good seeing
Hello,
Friday night in Brisbane (21st July 2016) turned on the good seeing and I was able to record some nice lunar AVI’s using the Tak Mewlon 210 and ASI174MM.
Most AVI's were recorded at 3000 frames and I used AutoStakkert2! to align, stack and combine the best, followed by Wavelets in Registax 6 and finishing in CS6.
Those are great Moonscapes Dennis and the seeing was really good on 19th and 21st - conditions not seen for a while.
The ASI174 allows a nice large area too.
Thanks for your comments Matt, Stuart & Dave, I appreciate them.
It was quite unusual to have such good seeing in Brisbane during the winter months (28 deg C today!) so I was quite pleased with the outcome.
@ Dave – I’ve lost a little of the passion for packing stuff up in the car and then spending sleepless nights at distant places amongst snoring astronomers, so sadly, I will not be attending this year. Maybe one day the passion will return?
Hope you have a great time up there – have you progressed to hiring a big truck yet for all your gear?

Thank John, I had to reduce these to tighten up the image quality so the big chip of the 174MM does help!
Classy shots, Dennis! Almost makes me feel like trying my hand at planetary... but I figure I don't have time for yet another addictive vice
Thanks Rick – you’ll probably burn out your sensors though, as your imaging system is not used to managing the overwhelming, copious volumes of photons in such short periods!
